Our Team Communicators
Jessica Wenclawiak, M.S.
As a science communicator, Jessica strives to help make connections between research outcomes and the everyday lives of the non-scientific community. After completing a degree in Biology and minor in English at the University of Georgia, Jessica earned a M.S. in Marine Biology at the College of Charleston where she studied microplastics in the marine environment and taught both undergraduate and graduate-level laboratories. In addition to conducting quantitive analysis on anthropogenic litter via community, “Beach Sweep,” events, Jessica has examined the impact of biofouling on the uptake of microplastics in commercially important fisheries. In her free time, Jessica is an avid reader and beachgoer — always ready to identify whatever curious thing has been brought in by the tide.
